Captain Pat Dineen
Panhandle Region
EVERY DAY’S A SURPRISE
Tiny Town, Fabulous Fish
Hi! I’m Pat Dineen. My family and friends call me “Patar.” I’ve lived in Okaloosa County in Florida’s Panhandle since 1975, and am a graduate of Fort Walton Beach HS class of 1981.
I became a licensed captain in 1983, and opened my charter business, Flyliner Charters, in 1998. I’ve guided everyone from senators and state supreme-court justices to kids and swamp country folk. My objective on every charter: Help all onboard become better anglers and make sure they have an enjoyable and memorable day on the water. Meeting a variety of people and watching relationships develop are what make every day a surprise.
Fishing the inshore, nearshore and offshore waters of Destin and the Florida Panhandle offers endless options––cobia, tarpon, blue marlin, blackfin tuna, snapper, mackerel. However, I must admit I’m partial to tarpon and blue marlin. They’re both incredible fish.
My expertise is in fly-fishing and sight fishing. I fish out of two boats: a Skeeter 240 SX with tower and a Beavertail B2 powered with a Yamaha 70. I also run the Outta Here, a 65-foot Viking private operation that is based out of Destin, Florida. However, we may be anywhere in the Caribbean basin in the winter.
On a Personal Note
My wife, Toni, and I have been married since 1997 and have known each other since middle school. We have one daughter, Katie, and two dogs: Maya, a lab, and Daisy, a potcake.
I’m proud to be a Life Member of CCA and applaud their efforts to conserve Florida’s marine resources. When I’m not fishing, I like to hunt, camp or travel. God bless I have been more than fortunate to have a job that lets me spend the majority of my life outdoors.
Thanks to my sponsors Bass Assassin, Costa Del Mar, DOA, Orvis, YETI, Power Pole and Rapala for your support. And thanks Rick for everything you have helped me with since day one of Florida Insider Fishing Report. It has been quite a ride, and I truly enjoy being a part of it.
